Meetings & Programs

The Potomac Unit has five general attendance meetings a year, at various locations throughout the Washington D.C. area. These meetings start with an interesting program then proceed with the business meeting and complete with a delectable buffet catered by members.

September 21, 2016, Wednesday, 11 am - 2 pm
“The Red-Hot Chili Pepper-Gals”
Speakers: Chrissy Moore and Piper Zettel, National Herb Garden Curator and Assistant Curator.
They will introduce us to the birthplaces and migration of the chili pepper around the world with an overview of some of the most important varieties for ornamental and culinary purposes. Get ready for the Herb of the Year Chile Pepper Celebration, October 8th in the National Herb Garden!

Speaker: Patrice Martin, owner of Virginia Truffles in Rixeyville Virginia.
Pat Martin will tell us about these unusual plants, how she grows them and her future plans.
